ReplyDeleteThis is a great podcast about prayer which would be great for moms. I don’t think you can study gratitude without discussing prayer. In the notes of the podcast there are several music videos about prayer which be great to watch together and discuss the things God gives us that we need to show gratitude for. https://momsoflight.com/2018/02/14/powerful-and-meaningful-prayers-with-guest-becky-edwards/
There is a video clips for the movie "War Room". We love that movie! We own it if anyone wants to get together to watch it.

Two people to study could be Elizabeth Kenny- a nurse who figured out how to reverse infantile paralysis aka polio but had to fight the medical community her whole live. She is a great example of leadership and showing gratitude for the tiny events in her life that came together to create a great whole.
The Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin - his parents owned a reptile preserve and Steve grew up around snakes and gators. He got his show when someone recorded him wrestling crocs to get them out of populated areas and put it on the news. He has a great love and gratitude for nature. His parents helped him achieve his mission by following their passions.
Video about Elizabeth Kenny with personal interviews from survivors of polio that were treated by this method. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOX_ehqeevM
DeleteSlightly different information about Elizabeth Kenny. Ends with a statement including a prayer of gratitude for Sister Kenny.
I have found a couple clips from the 1946 film "Sister Kenny". Looks good and wish I could find a way to watch the whole thing.

ReplyDeleteThis 9 minute TED talk was inspiring and brought gratitude to my heart. It reminded me of a quote I saw: "Gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder". (You may want to skip the first 30 seconds. At second 29 it shows a bare bottom jump into a pond. Skip that small bit of nudity and the rest is great.)
Lookfor these 3 Aboriginals artists(indigenous Australians) a poet, a singer and water color artist. In their own way, through their form of art, they were able to promote citizenship to indigenous by helping to bridge the cultural gap between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal culture.
